The Social Affairs Department and the Tourism Department of the Penghu County Government jointly organized an outdoor activity on May 13, inviting the energetic volunteers of the county’s Social Welfare Volunteer Service Team to take a short break from their service duties. The volunteers boarded the Penghu Tour Bus and set out into nature to refresh their minds and enjoy a relaxing light-travel experience along the Northern Ring of Penghu.

The Penghu County Social Welfare Volunteer Service Team is composed of passionate volunteers who embrace life with enthusiasm. Many of them are retirees or approaching retirement age, yet they choose to remain actively engaged by contributing their expertise and personal interests during their free time. Through active participation in public affairs, they enrich their lives and find fulfillment in every service opportunity.

This Northern Ring Penghu Tour Bus experience was thoughtfully scheduled for the day before Mother’s Day, allowing volunteer mothers—who are usually dedicated to serving others—to temporarily set aside their responsibilities, reconnect with nature, enjoy a leisurely journey, and experience the joy of being cared for and served. It also served as an early celebration of Mother’s Day.

Transportation was provided by the Penghu Tour Bus, operated by professional drivers from the Public Vehicle and Vessel Management Office, ensuring a safe and smooth journey. While enjoying the light travel experience, participants also contributed to sustainable, low-carbon tourism. Onboard tour guides delivered professional hospitality services and insightful interpretations of Penghu’s natural and cultural resources, immersing volunteers in the history, landscapes, geology, and geography of iconic attractions such as Tongliang Great Banyan Tree, Fisherman’s Island Lighthouse, Daguoye Basalt Columns, Erkan Historical Village, Xiaomen Whale Cave, and the Penghu Trans-Oceanic Bridge—creating lasting and cherished memories of this Penghu Tour Bus journey.
